Hidden Dragon Yoga Teacher Training is a well-established school of yoga, registered with Yoga Alliance® at the 300-hour level, and recognized as a Registered Yoga School (RYS) as of 2015. Our highly-skilled instructors bring over 40 years combined experience to impart students with a deep understanding of yogic practices and philosophy. Hidden Dragon Yoga Teacher Training offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of technique, applied anatomy and biomechanics, as well as methodology to further your own journey and inspire others.

Directed by Desirae Penton, owner of Hidden Dragon Yoga, the HDY Teacher Training Program incorporates skillful practitioners with time-honored techniques so that graduates may educate others effectively, safely, and purposefully in a moderately heated environment. This program is open to anyone seeking to deepen their study of yoga, and to those who wish to become yoga instructors.

Hidden Dragon Yoga serves individuals at all levels in their yoga practice, viewing the body as a sacred instrument of alignment and reunion with the Divine. Our mission is to encourage and promote each student’s individual growth and self-expression using an alignment-based practice from the heart. Together, we strive to build a strong, diverse yoga community and foster an environment in which every student feels welcomed, safe, and empowered.

What to expect…

In addition to your regular yoga practice, you will incorporate self-study, complete homework assignments or readings, and participate in regular testing as you advance through the program. Here’s what it takes to succeed in teacher training:

  • Sincere desire to work with people of varying experience levels and backgrounds-be prepared to work with each of our students

  • Willingness to actively listen and learn

  • Contribute to the group and be engaged

  • Keep an open heart and mind

  • Refrain from judgment

  • Arrive on time

  • Respect your teachers and community – honor this experience by being the best you can be

  • Maintain a daily practice – it is through our own journey that we may inspire others

E-RYT 500 - Yoga Alliance

Jason Lobo started practicing yoga at Richard Freeman’s Yoga Workshop in Boulder, CO in 1999. He has been teaching asana and yoga philosophy since 2007. Jason’s teaching is informed by his long hours of disciplined study and practice in both Anusara Yoga and Iyengar Yoga, and by his studies and practice of Rajanaka Tantra, with Dr. Douglas Brooks.

Jason teaches alignment-based asana informed by non-dual, heart-centered Tantric philosophy. Students find his teaching to be humorous and challenging as well as nurturing, and appreciate his balance of clarity, enthusiasm, and wisdom.

An endorsement from George Purvis:

"What or who is Jason Lobo ? In today's world of "yoga" what seems to be most important is branding or creativity just for the sake of being different . In Jason Lobo you'll find an eclectic teacher that embraces "form follows function" and eternal virtues such as obedience, studentship and integrity. This package is becoming a rarity . Yes, Jason was a student of mine and considers me his mentor . However, I would be remiss if I did not say that as much I taught Jason, I learned from Jason . Now to give an even clearer perspective of my background, I'm an Iyengar teacher with 35+ yrs. of teaching experience, certified at the Senior Intermediate III  level since 1993. You don't want to miss the Wolf!"

Words of wisdom from a Big Ol` Turtle, Tortuga Grande, AKA George Purvis.

ERYT 500 - Yoga Alliance

Desirae's journey with yoga in 1997 due to sports injuries. With a dear friend,  in the summer of 2013 she opened Hidden Dragon Yoga. Since opening Hidden Dragon she has seen what yoga is truly all about. The community, growth, compassion and love in a studio's space has much more to do with the building. It is the people and fur babies within the walls. #LoveTheJourney
